Q1- What is topology ?

Ans- Topology is the layout of network. In other word we can say, way of designing is called topology. Topology also states that how a data will be transfer from one device to another devices.

Topology is categorized as two type - 1- Physical topology 2- Logical Topology

Physical Topology states physical layout of network and Logical topology states way of data transfer.

Some topologies are Bus,Star, Ring, Mesh, Tree and hybrid.

Q2- Which topology is most commonly used ?

Ans- Now days star topology is one of the best topology created with switch. It works on full duplex where all computer can send or recieve data at a time. In big Enterprise network tree topology is used. Tree topology is collection of many star topology.

Q3- Which topology uses a central device MAU (Multistation Access Unit ) ?

Ans- Ring topology uses MAU as a central devices . In Ring topology all devices are connected physically with this devices but logically they work as Ring.

Q4- Which topology uses Terminators ?

Ans. Bus topology uses terminators on both end of cables.

Q5- Which topology is most expensive and Why ?

Ans.   Mesh topology is most expensive topology because in this topology all computers are connected to each other by a dedicated cable. So many cables, LAN cards and connectors are required to make this network.. 

Q6- What is Hybrid Topology ?

Ans . Hybrid Topology is the combination of two or more topology. If two topologies are connected to each other, it is known as hybrid topology.
